Morning
The grand opening ceremony
Kashgar Ancient City(Approx. 1.5 Hours)
The day begins in the morning with the Opening Ceremony at the East Gate of Kashgar Ancient City. Uyghur performers dressed in colorful traditional costumes sing and dance, while the sounds of wooden drums and suona horns fill the air. A camel caravan slowly passes through the city gate, vividly recreating the bustling prosperity of the ancient Silk Road. Travelers can freely interact with the performers, join the joyful dancing, and feel the warm and open-hearted hospitality of the Uyghur people from the very beginning of the journey.
Morning
Uyghur folk culture
Kashgar Ancient City(Approx. 1.5 Hours)
Step into the ancient city and begin a leisurely walk through its historic lanes. You can rent a beautiful set of Atlas silk ethnic clothing — women can wear long dresses in bright colors with unique patterns, while men can put on delicate embroidered hats — and then stroll through Rainbow Alley, Cloth Bag Alley, and One-Meter Love Alley. Along the way, you will also pass by Id Kah Mosque, the largest mosque in Xinjiang.
Lunch
Traditional Cuisine
Lunch Break(Approx. 2 Hours)
At noon, sit down in a century-old teahouse and enjoy rich milk tea, authentic hand-grabbed rice, and baked samsa. While dining, listen to the performance of the Twelve Muqam and watch the lively Mäshräp dance, immersing yourself in the relaxed rhythm of local life.
Afternoon
Intangible Cultural Heritage Handicraft Experience: Pyrography / Clay Sculpting
Xingping Li River Bamboo Raft (Approx. 2.5 Hours)
Using a wooden board as the canvas and a heated pen as the drawing tool, you will slowly create patterns, architectural details, or Xinjiang-style motifs on the wood surface. As the pen moves, the natural scent of wood and a light roasted fragrance gradually fill the air, while the design slowly develops rich layers of light and dark tones. The whole process is quiet and focused, making it especially suitable for travelers who enjoy art, photography, and slow, immersive experiences.
Starting with a piece of soft clay, you will shape a small Western Regions–style object or decorative piece under the guidance of a local craft instructor. You can experience with your own hands how the clay gradually takes form at your fingertips.
Dinner and Evening
the lively Khan Bazaar Night Market
Khan Bazaar Night Market(Approx. 2.5 Hours)
In the evening, stroll through the lively Khan Bazaar Night Market and enjoy freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and handmade yogurt amid the rich aromas of spices and fresh fruit. As night falls, the market comes alive with brilliant lights, while the smell of grilled skewers and clay-pot meat fills the air. Surrounded by cheerful music and dancing, you can join the locals and end this unforgettable Silk Road journey in a vibrant atmosphere full of ethnic charm.
Evening
Grand Outdoor Light Show
Impression Sanjie Liu (Approx. 1.5 Hours)
Watch a breathtaking real-scene performance staged on the Li River with karst mountains as the natural backdrop.
Directed by Zhang Yimou, this spectacular show features hundreds of performers, colorful lights, and folk melodies, bringing Zhuang ethnic culture to life in an unforgettable outdoor theater.
